3 DAYS OF DESIGN

BIRGITTE DUE MADSEN & THE DANISH ART WORKSHOPS
In collaboration with the renowned artist and designer, Birgitte Due Madsen, we have specially designed
two fragrances for the exhibition of the Danish Art Workshops during the event of 3 Days of Design 12-14 June 2024. She is the much talented artist and curator of this exciting exhibition and has carefully selected two unique scents, Pine Wood & Pineapple, which will be conjuring the exhibition space.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO
ADD SCENTS TO THE EXHIBITION?
Design is a process and a "problem-solving" discipline that involves planning and creating products, services, environments and experiences. In a combination of aesthetics, functionality and technology, you seek to solve a problem or fulfill a need.
With the SELECTED PROJECTS exhibition at the Danish Art Workshops, we wish to engage and stimulate the sensory directions in which we as humans experience and interact in the world: the senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch.
When we talk about design, these senses all play an important role, especially when it comes to creating a holistic experience that engages multiple senses to enhance the user experience.

The fragrances Pine Wood and Pineapple are especially created as a resonance for the unique notes found in the two workshops.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO HAVE
EMMANUEL MARTINI AS THE SCENT DESIGNER?
It was quite natural for me to invite Emmanuel to participate in this exhibition, as we have worked together before, but in a completely different setting, and we have wanted to develop something together for a long time. Emmanuel has a very special sensibility in his being and a unique ability to decipher impressions, I therefore did not for a moment doubt whether he would understand my desire for the two specially chosen fragrances, which for several reasons are linked to the Danish Art Workshops. The history and capacity of the place has been important to convey in this exhibition, as all the exhibited works are distinguished by having been created right here. I hope we succeeded in that, by also emphasizing the scents of the place as a sensory backdrop during 3daysofdesign at the Danish Art Workshops.
