I had the exciting opportunity to collaborate with Belgian designer Thomas Coccimiglio, founder of the hand-knotted rug label Les Editions de Tapis, to create a scent for the Design Market at the Consortium Museum in Dijon. This fragrance, developed as both a scented candle and a fragrance oil-based electric diffuser by my Copenhagen-based company "Escential CPH", was designed to evoke Thomas’s memory of an old family house filled with hints of turpentine and dust—a comforting blend reminiscent of walking into a beloved family home in the French countryside after a long absence, awakening treasured childhood memories.

The installation, titled The Blue Room, is curated by Thomas and inspired by a 1930s photograph by Man Ray of the Maharaja of Indore, an iconic Indian art collector. Thomas, who launched his brand in 2020, is trained in fashion design and brings a deep passion for art history, interior design, color, and handcrafted items.
